- Which command do you need help with?
- > RUCPHMWLTNGQFS|
- UU USER-NAME
- UU Lets you change the name you log on as. May be available
- UU only to higher-privileged callers.
- UC CITY
- UC Lets you change the city you told Opus you're calling from.
- UP PASSWORD
- UP You can change your logon password. You should do this
- UP every few months for increased security.
- UH HELP LEVEL
- UH You can tell Opus how much menu information you need.
- UH There are three help levels:
- UH
- UH NOVICE - A lot of help with full menus
- UH REGULAR - A little help and brief menus
- UH EXPERT - No help, no menus
- UM MORE
- UM Turns the "More [Y,n]?" prompt on or off.
- UM
- UM MORE ON: Opus asks "More [Y,n]?" after displaying the number of
- UM lines equal to your L)ength of screen setting.
- UM
- UM MORE OFF: Most information is displayed non-stop. You can still
- UM pause the display using CONTROL-S to pause and any other
- UM key to resume the display.
- UW WIDTH
- UW Tells Opus how many characters across your monitor can display.
- UW This is taken into consideration for message displays ONLY.
- UW Bulletins, file listings, etc. are always displayed assuming
- UW you have 80 columns. Sorry folks, it's called PROGRESS.
- UL LENGTH OF SCREEN
- UL You can tell Opus how many lines your screen can hold before
- UL asking you "More [Y,n]?". 24 or 25 lines is normal. Of course,
- UL if you have the MORE option set to OFF, this setting really
- UL doesn't matter.
- UT TABS
- UT Turns TAB display on or off.
- UT
- UT TABS ON: Tabs are sent as tabs. Your terminal software must be able
- UT to handle tabs correctly, or the spacing on your screen will
- UT not look right. Screen output is faster with Tabs ON.
- UT
- UT TABS OFF: Tabs are sent as a sequence of 8 spaces. Slower, but
- UT more reliable. Try it both ways and see which works best.
- UT
- UN NULLS
- UN Nulls are ASCII 0's that some slower terminals need to keep
- UN up with Opus. If you're using a personal computer, chances
- UN are you don't need to worry about nulls.
- UG GRAPHICS
- UG Turns ANSI graphics on or off.
- UG
- UG If the word RED on this line is highlighted or in color,
- UG then your computer understands ANSI graphics commands. Keep GRAPHICS ON.
- UG If, however, you see something like [31;1mRED above, then your
- UG computer is ignoring the ANSI commands. Keep GRAPHICS OFF.
- US SCREEN CLEAR
- US Tells Opus to clear the screen when appropriate.
- US
- US YES: Opus will clear your screen from time to time.
- US NO: Material "scrolls" with no screen clear.
- UF FULL-SCREEN EDITOR
- UF Opus is now pioneering the concept of the first BBS full-screen
- UF editor. It allows you to enter messages using arrow keys, etc.,
- UF just like a word processor. If you turn OFF the F)ull-scrn editor,
- UF you will use the LORE (line-oriented editor), the more orthodox
- UF method.
- UF You must have ANSI G)raphics ON to use the Full-screen editor.
- UQ QUIT TO MAIN MENU
- UQ Leave CHANGE SETUP Section and return to MAIN MENU.
